About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oregon and have a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles and a B.A. in Psychology from U.C.L.A.

I have twelve years of experience in private practice working with individuals and couples. I am comfortable doing both short-term problem solving counseling and long-term in-depth therapy.

I see myself as a supportive, compassionate companion to the therapeutic process. Always my focus is on empathic acceptance of the whole person within his or her frame of reference.

My background includes being Program Director of the Domestic Violence Diversion Program at the Family Service Agency of Sonoma County where I did evaluation and treatment, and acted as the liaison between the Agency and the Sonoma County Probation Department. I developed and led a 20-week men’s training group that satisfied the diversion requirements of the court.

I have over 20 years of experience working in business management for several large corporations. This has given me firsthand insight into understanding workplace problems and helping people to develop career goals.

I have also volunteered time with the following organizations:

Suicide Prevention Center of Los Angeles County.
I performed short-term crisis intervention with suicidal patients.

Sonoma County M.E.N. , an organization striving to end male violence in Sonoma County.
I volunteered time on the crisis line, trained new volunteers, and did outreach educational work in the community.

California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, Redwood Empire Chapter.
I was on the executive board and served as treasurer.
